SB 376 -- DEPUTY CORONERS

SPONSOR:  Caskey (Cooper, 120)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Professional Registration and Licensing by a vote of 14 to 0.

This bill changes the body that certifies deputy coroners from
the County Officials Training Commission to the Missouri Coroners
and Medical Examiners Association.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the County Officials Training
Commission no longer exists, so there is no certifying body for
deputy coroners.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Caskey; and Missouri
Coroners and Medical Examiners Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
